I'm the weirdo who has no sweet tooth. Seriously. I don't know what went wrong when I was being cooked up but, I was born with no sweet tooth. What's even weirder than that is occasionally I get a craving for something "sweet" but, of course, that to me, means something not so sweet. You'll see what I mean.
As long as I can remember I've preferred dark chocolate to milk chocolate. Like, I was a little kid trick-or-treating asking for Mounds bars over Milky Ways. When my dad would give my siblings and I little boxes of Godiva truffles for Valentine's Day, I always only ate the dark chocolate and traded the milk chocolate ones for more dark. ALSO, It always took me about two weeks, maybe more, to eat four little truffles—I would take a tiny nibble and then put it back in the box and revisit a couple days later while my brother and sisters had finished their chocolates within an hour of receiving them. Today most dark chocolate isn't dark enough for me, I wouldn't eat milk chocolate, and you'd actually have to pay me to eat white chocolate.
So, why am I giving you a recipe for a "sweet" snack?! Well, some of you guys have let me know on Instagram that you feel the same way about sweets! And I thought I was alone! So, tell me, do you guys also get the craving for something "sweet" that's not actually sweet? Did that even make sense? Whatever. This is what I eat when I get that craving: Frozen super dark chocolate chips, walnuts and, unsweetened coconut shreds. That's. It. So easy, right? The chocolate and the walnuts are bitter and the coconut is naturally slightly sweet. Perf! Oh also, all of those things are good for you!
Snack away!
